Description

The Rainoldi Valtellina Sassella Riserva is a robust and elegant red produced from vineyards in the municipalities of Castione Andevenno and Sondrio. The majestic character of this wine embodies all the aromas of Sassella. This is the most famous area of Valtellina, recognized for its extremely balanced and intense wine flavors thanks to its soils rich in ferrous rock and minerals located in magnificent locations, characterized by terraced vineyards that force those who pass through them to blend with nature and immerse themselves in a company that works through a dense network of winemakers. This DOCG Valtellina Superiore Sassella Riserva is a creation of Aldo Rainoldi who, at his Casa Vinicola, produces wines with a limited production in terms of quantity, but of exceptional variety and quality. The distinctive feature of this winery, founded in 1925 in the splendid landscape of Lombardy, is its ability to express itself at its best in the production of wines of great value and personality. Rainoldi wines therefore represent the perfect local winemaking tradition and have always been synonymous with quality, in Italy and throughout the world. Produced with 100% Nebbiolo grapes, this Rainoldi Valtellina Sassella Riserva is harvested by hand throughout the first ten days of October. It is fermented at a controlled temperature and with daily punch-downs and pumping over and is then aged in barriques for approximately 2 years before being bottled.
