Description

Still red from Sicily, 14.5% ABV, produced by Planeta. 100% Syrah, 0.75L bottle, 2020 vintage. A Syrah from the Menfi area, a wine that tells the story of one of Sicily's most important wineries. Aged in Allier oak barriques, 30% new. Dark notes of cocoa, freshly dried red roses, leather, black pepper, and licorice root give this nose a mysterious character, followed by camphorated balsamic notes and hints of brandied cherries. Dense ruby red. The palate balances soft tannins and subtle freshness; good balance in the finish. A wine that pairs perfectly with red meats, game, and aged cheeses.
