Description
Still organic red wine from Tuscany IGT, 14% ABV, produced by Petrolo. Blend: 80% Sangiovese, 15% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. 0.75L bottle, 2022 vintage. A wine born from the history and passion of the Bazzocchi family, owners of Petrolo since 1940. Manual harvesting in crates, selection of the bunches and berries on a sorting table. Natural vinification with native yeasts in glass-lined cement tanks. Frequent but gentle manual pumping over. Maceration of the skins for over 18 days. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation in wood. Aged for approximately 15 months in 40Hl barrels and French oak barriques, and partly in cement tanks. A blanket of floral notes encloses splendid notes of berries, plums, marine scrub, and licorice. Ruby red color. On the palate, it enjoys healthy balance and a distinct, sinuous phenolic structure. The fruity notes are well-persistent.
