Description

What kind of wine it is

Costa d’Amalfi Bianco by Marisa Cuomo is a still white wine from Campania with a controlled designation of origin. The result of a blend of Falanghina and Biancolella, it appears a bright straw yellow in the glass. The bouquet releases notes of acacia, lemon verbena and aromatic herbs, enriched by a delicate hint of toasted almond. On the palate, it displays excellent balance and a lively freshness, making it perfect to accompany lean fish dishes and fresh cheeses.

Where it comes from

This wine is born in Furore, among the steep terraces of the coast, where heroic viticulture is practised. The south-facing vineyards enjoy optimal sunlight and a constant sea breeze, which gives the aromas a particular finesse. The vines sink their roots into dolomitic-limestone soils, a rocky matrix that gives the structure a precise definition. Situated at an altitude between 300 and 400 metres, the vineyards benefit from the unique coastal climate, faithfully expressing the distinctive character of the Costa d’Amalfi area.

How it is produced

The vineyards are cultivated following sustainable principles and are trained using pergola, atypical radial and espalier systems. After harvesting, the grapes are processed inside the evocative cellar carved into the rock, a natural environment perfect for preserving the organoleptic integrity of the raw material. The vinification process, conducted in synergy with Luigi Moio, aims to enhance the varietal identity of each grape. A rigorous eco-sustainable approach and meticulous aromatic protection allow the essence of the territory to be transferred directly into the glass.

History and Curiosities

Born in Furore from the dedication of Marisa Cuomo and Andrea Ferraioli, this fine wine embodies the most authentic Campanian heroic viticulture. Under the expert guidance of Luigi Moio, the vines grow on steep terraces caressed by the sea breeze. The roots delve into dolomitic-limestone rocks, while the processing in the evocative cellar carved into the rock enhances its coastal soul. The exceptional 2025 vintage triumphs with the 5 Grappoli Bibenda, 96 points from Luca Maroni and the iconic 3 Bicchieri Gambero Rosso.

The grapes that grow here, clinging to the rocks of Furore, are exposed to the magical action of the sun and sea of the Amalfi Coast. The charm of the geometry of the estate’s vineyards is joined by the beautiful wine cellar dug into the rock.

Since 1980, the year in which the winegrowing estate was established, Cantine Marisa Cuomo has belonged to Andrea Ferraioli and Marisa Cuomo, and it occupies an area of 10 hectares.

The selection of noble grapes, the search for the right degree of freshness and humidity, combined with the passage of time, old secrets handed down by the local winemakers and the advanced technology used by today’s wine technicians give life to wines of the finest quality, appreciated the world over.

Andrea Ferraioli and Marisa Cuomo, with oenologist Luigi Moio and the estate’s winegrowers, decide to focus on quality to stand out from the crowd in the Italian oenology sector, with wines with a taste that is just as unique and extraordinary as the Furore coast.
