Description
What kind of wine it is
Luce della Vite is a refined still red wine with Indicazione Geografica Tipica from Tuscany, produced by Tenuta Luce. It is the result of a meticulous blend of Merlot and Sangiovese, vinified in steel and matured in oak barrels. On the palate, it reveals a full structure, supported by lively acidity and soft, silky tannins. The aromatic profile expresses great elegance, with intense aromas of blackberry and black cherry, enriched by balsamic notes of eucalyptus and hints of graphite and spices. The entry on the palate is generous, leading to a long, aromatic and persistent finish.
Where it comes from
This wine originates from the prestigious vineyards of Montalcino, an authentic expression of the Tuscan territory. Its origins date back to the ambitious project of Vittorio Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi, created to enhance the excellence of the terroir. The climate plays a decisive role: mild winters prepare the vines for hot summers, while late-season rains encourage a marked temperature range before the harvest. This ensures optimal ripening of the grapes and a sip in perfect balance between lively freshness and structural vigour.
How it is produced
The production process begins with the separate harvesting of the grapes. Vinification takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature for twelve days, with maceration on the skins for almost a month to maximise extraction. Malolactic fermentation occurs in oak barrels, where the wine matures for twenty-four months. This careful ageing in wood, mostly new, smooths the tannic texture and enriches the body, giving the palate a velvety consistency and a deep, defined persistence.

From that meeting a wine was born, inspired by an ambitious project and linked to one of Tuscany's election territories for the production of outstanding wines. The project consisted in creating a wine in Montalcino that would go beyond the boundaries of tradition, without denying it, by drawing on the experience of two historical families in the world of wine.
The dream took shape in Tenuta Luce, a name that evokes the light of the Montalcino sun, which is the source of life and nourishment, which marks the passage of the seasons and gives rhythm to every agricultural activity.
Since then, Tenuta Luce has always honoured this vision, and the estate's flagship wine, Luce, has been joined by other exclusive wines, capable of transcending the boundaries of their own territory, earning unanimous acclaim internationally. Read more
