Description
What kind of wine it is
Les Heritiers du Comte Lafon Macon Bussieres is a still white wine with a balanced and elegant profile. Made from Chardonnay grapes, it appears in the glass with an intense, bright straw yellow colour. On the nose, it offers clear floral aromas, enriched by delicate notes of violet, honey and nougat. On the palate, the fruit is juicy and ripe, with hints of melted butter and fine pastry, finishing with a persistent savoury and iodised finish.
Where it comes from
This wine is produced in France, in the heart of Burgundy, within the Mâconnais area. It is part of the Mâcon-Bussières zone, a territory with a strong winemaking vocation for Chardonnay. The producer, Les Heritiers du Comte Lafon, is passionately dedicated to enhancing this variety, highlighting the unique characteristics of the soils to achieve a clear expression of the terroir. This is a white wine capable of evolving positively in the cellar for a period of between five and ten years.
How it is produced
The winemaking process aims to preserve the purity of the aromas and the integrity of the fruit. The process takes place mainly in stainless steel, but the use of large barrels for some batches allows the creation of a blend that harmonises aromatic freshness and structure. Served at a temperature of 10-12 °C, it proves extremely versatile at the table. It pairs ideally with selected cheeses, shellfish and butter-cooked fish, elegantly balancing the creamiest textures.
History and Curiosities
Launched in 1999 in the Mâconnais, the Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon project celebrates Burgundy by dedicating itself exclusively to Chardonnay. The Mâcon-Bussières AOC 2022, enhanced by the mention Le Monsard on the label, embodies the elegance of a production of around 140,000 bottles. Thanks to skilful vinification in steel, combined with the use of large 60-hectolitre barrels for specific cuvées, the wine develops exceptional harmony. Awarded 91 points by Vinous, this prestigious white guarantees an ageing potential of 5-10 years.
