Description
What kind of wine it is
Champagne Premier Cru Nature de Craie Dosage Zero by Laherte Frères is a Blanc de Blancs made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes. Crafted according to the principles of the Traditional Method with zero dosage, this wine is characterised by an extremely dry, pure and vibrant sensory profile. On the palate, it reveals a pronounced mineral imprint, a direct expression of the chalky soils from which it originates. The absence of added sugars and the decision not to filter the wine allow the integrity and clarity of the Chardonnay to be preserved in all its liveliness.
Where it comes from
This wine comes from the heart of the Côte des Blancs, from selected plots located in the communes of Vertus and Voipreux. The vineyards are situated at the foot of the hills, where the chalk layer is very shallow and the soil is particularly light. This pedological configuration gives the sip a savoury and vibrant tension. The Laherte Frères winery carefully manages numerous micro-parcels, enhancing the specific nuances of the soil to offer an authentic interpretation of the Champagne region.
How it is produced
The grapes, hand-harvested at perfect ripeness, undergo traditional pressing to extract only the free-run juice. Vinification takes place by gravity in barrels, where alcoholic fermentation begins, accompanied by regular bâtonnage. This is followed by malolactic fermentation and a long period of ageing on fine lees, which helps to impart structure and complexity. The prise de mousse takes place in the bottle, strictly following the Traditional Method, finishing as pas dosé, meaning no sugars are added after disgorgement.
History and Curiosities
Born from the artisanal approach of Laherte Frères, this excellence expresses the vibrant soul of pure Chardonnay. The name pays homage to the prestigious vineyards of the Côte des Blancs, characterised by soil where chalk emerges almost to the surface. The fermentation in wood of each individual plot and the total absence of added sulphites demonstrate a profound respect for nature. Thanks to a rigorous traditional method with zero dosage, this wine offers a lively and authentic experience, crowned by the prestigious 91 points from Vinous.

The Laherte brothers' vineyards extend over three typical Champagne locations: Épernay, Côte des Blancs, and Vallée de la Marne; a total of 10 historic crus. The cultivation philosophy involves absolute respect for traditions and a preference for natural methods in place of chemical products: use of plant compounds to increase the defensive capacity of the vines, non-invasive pruning that maintains developed foliage in height, organisation of work and treatments according to the most auspicious days. The production process involves separate vinifications for each Cru to make the most of micro-climatic variations, followed by a work of selection and combination of the wines produced to create a harmonious, elegant and fruity Champagne. Fermentation is slow and spontaneous; one or two racking takes place before bottling.
The Champagnes of the Laherte brothers are brilliantly clean, crisp and genuine wines, resulting from cultivation and production processes based on unconventional and sustainable systems. They are elegant and refined wines that evoke the flavour of the grapes and soils from which they originated. All the products in the range are of high quality and capable of impressing even the most discerning palates, where the bubbles explode, giving that wide variety of aromas and flavours that only the best Champagnes can provide.
