Description
What kind of wine it is
Pinot Nero Riserva Vigna Hausmannhof by Haderburg is a still red wine made from Pinot Noir grapes. Produced in the Alto Adige region, it displays a bright, light ruby red colour. On the nose, it reveals fruity and complex aromas, enriched with spicy notes of liquorice. On the palate, it expresses a well-developed and fresh structure, supported by fine tannins that ensure a deep persistence. This defined flavour profile makes it ideal to pair with red meat dishes and game.
Where it comes from
The grapes are grown in the Hausmannhof vineyard, located in Pochi di Salorno in the Alto Adige area. The vines, around thirty years old, grow on calcareous-clay soils and are cultivated using modified pergola and Guyot systems. This specific soil composition gives the wine a pronounced fresh and defined flavour profile. The environment, suited to low yields, allows for fruit of remarkable concentration, the result of an excellent quality process.
How it is produced
Harvesting takes place at the end of September, followed by fermentation in steel with natural punching down for about fourteen days. Temperature control is managed by cooling the tank walls. Subsequently, malolactic fermentation continues in wood. Maturation is completed with careful ageing in new and used barrels, which gives the wine stability and roundness. The final sip is dry and balanced, characterised by minimal residual sugar and excellent total acidity.
History and Curiosities
First produced in 1993 in South Tyrol, the Pinot Nero Riserva Vigna Hausmannhof from Haderburg comes from thirty-year-old vines grown on calcareous-clay soils in Pochi di Salorno. This vintage boasts a limited production of only 1,450 bottles, the result of careful ageing in new and used barriques that enhances its natural elegance. As Luciano Nebbia notes, this wine offers sweet and enveloping sensations and possesses a rare ageing potential, delivering a deep, refined and extraordinarily persistent sip.

In the mid-1970s, we made the daring transformation from being a fruit-growing farm concerned only with the production and sale of grapes and apples to a winery which processes its own grapes. Since that turning point, our enthusiasm for good wines and champagnes has set the tone for the work in the vineyards and in the wine cellar. Read more
