Description
The Pinot Nero vine owes its name to the characteristic 'cone' shape of the grape cluster. It was already present in the Piacenza and Pavia hills in the 1500s, but the vine we know probably derives from the French variety. Cultivated in marly-calcareous soils such as those of Lombardy and Piedmont, it expresses its characteristics as a vine that is demanding to work with, in fact even cellar techniques require a skilful knowledge of its characteristics in order to enhance its aromas.
