Winegrower from father to son since the Thirty Years war in Europe (1620) the Humbrecht family has long winemaking traditions. Today Léonard and Ginette, as well, as Olivier and Margaret Humbrecht are working together at the Domaine.
Chanoine Barth, historian of Alsace wines, recalls that the Humbrecht family was already renting vineyards from the Abbaye of Marbach, near Gueberschwihr, in the 18th century. However, we only started to bottle our wines in 1947. Since then, we have only produced grapes from our own vineyards, making the wine and selling it under our own label.
Today the Domaine Zind-Humbrecht has 40 hectares of vineyards located in five different villages in the Haut- Rhin. Read more

| Story | The town of Rangen already appears in history around the 12th and 13th centuries. It quickly acquired this great reputation thanks to the exceptional quality of its wines. There is no doubt that vines were planted here earlier, but the first important written documents relating to this vineyard date back to 1291. |
| Origin | Rangen de Thann, among the southernmost vineyards in Alsace. |
| Soil composition | The soil structure of this famous location is very special and absolutely unique in Alsace. It consists of volcanic and sedimentary sandstone rocks with a variable abundance of volcanic elements. The soil is strewn with eroded hard rock (grey sandstone, volcanic tuff). This surface layer is approximately 40 to 60 cm thick and allows the roots of vines to penetrate to a greater depth. |
| Allergens | Contains sulphites |
