Description
Still white wine from Slovenia, produced by Marjan Simcic. 100% Chardonnay, 2023 vintage. A wine born from the passion of a family that has been growing vines in Brda (Collio) since 1860. Fermentation on the skins (maceration) for 2 days in 3,000-liter truncated cone-shaped oak vats (ton), without the addition of selected yeasts. Soft pressing with a pneumatic press. Aged for 21 months in 3,000-liter oak barrels; in bottle: at least 2 months. Intense yellow color with golden reflections. Spicy, full-bodied and intense, with incredible freshness; suitable for aging.

Marjan`s story, which was told and implemented through his wines in the past 20 years, in the year 2008 was brought to such perfection to present to public the result of his devotion - a new line of top quality wines ''Opoka''.
Along the wines’ structure we can follow the intertwining of long-lasting winemaker’s experience, signature of his character and all the best offered by the Brda terroir. In Brda jargon Opoka means marl of aeolian sediment very poor in organic structure, whereas very rich with mineral salts. Read more
