Description

What kind of wine it is

Allegrini Fieramonte Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva represents one of the highest expressions of the Veneto region, crafted by Allegrini. This red wine is made from Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Oseleta and Rondinella grapes, processed using the traditional drying method in the fruit loft. The bouquet is intense, with elegant notes of blackberry, ripe cherry, violet and dried fruit. On the palate, it displays a full and elegant structure, enriched by refined hints of black pepper, liquorice, coffee and dark chocolate, while the silky tannins perfectly balance the acidity, leading to a dry and persistent finish, characterised by a pleasant mineral and almond nuance.

Where it comes from

The grapes are grown in the Fieramonte hillside vineyard, located in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica. The area enjoys an ideal south-east exposure, which favours the optimal ripening of the bunches. The terroir is distinguished by a clay soil rich in pebbles, magnesium and iron, mineral elements that give the wine a subtle minerality. The typical temperature variations of the area preserve the natural freshness of the fruit and help define a precise and deep aromatic profile. The rigorous manual selection of the bunches ensures the quality of the raw material, laying the foundations for a wine of extraordinary complexity.

How it is produced

The vinification process begins with the drying of the bunches for several months, allowing for a high aromatic concentration thanks to the natural loss of weight. After fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, the wine matures for 48 months in French oak barrels, before the final blend is created. This is followed by further ageing in Slavonian oak barrels and a long final maturation. This careful ageing gives the wine a marked depth of flavour, ideal for accompanying game dishes, spicy cheeses and rich sweet-and-sour preparations, enhancing the distinctive characteristics of the dried grapes.

History and Curiosities

Born from the legendary Fieramonte vineyard, this rare Amarone is considered a classic of Italian oenology, on a par with Barolo and Brunello di Montalcino. The Allegrini winery has perfected the style of Amarone through extensive research and experimentation, enhancing the potential of the grapes to combine fruit purity, power and elegance.

Allegrini is one of the most important and authoritative wineries in Italy. Known for its production of Valpolicella Classica, the Allegrini winery boasts one hundred hectares of vineyards located on the hills of Fumane, Sant'Ambrogio and San Pietro in Cariano.

Belonging to the family of the same name since the 16th century, the Allegrini winery is located in the Valpolicella Classica area: in particular, it is situated where vines such as corvina, molinara and rondinella give life to what are considered some of the best red wines of the Peninsula. xtraWine offers numerous bottles of Allegrini Allegrini wines that stand out for their refinement and elegance, very pleasant and capable of enveloping you with every sip, conquering even the most demanding palates. This is due to continuous improvements in production such as the introduction of the use of barriques alongside the traditional large barrels, and even a reduction in the ageing period so as not to alter too much the quality of the grapes used.

Not only Valpolicella, on xtraWine you can find Allegrini wines such as Amarone, Valpolicella and Recioto.
