Description
Barolo Bussia Romirasco 2021, a still red from Piedmont, 15% ABV, produced by Aldo Conterno. This Barolo comes from the prestigious Romirasco vineyard, in the heart of the Bussia area of Monforte d'Alba, made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes. Aldo Conterno founded his winery in the 1960s, after dividing the estate of his father Giacomo, a key figure in post-war Italian winemaking. Manual harvest in mid-October. Maceration of the skins in stainless steel tanks for 30 days. Aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for 30 months. It expresses intense, pleasant, elegant, and refined aromas of black cherry jam, raspberry jam, plum jam, and violets, followed by pleasing aromas of cocoa, leather, licorice, tobacco, and vanilla. Light ruby red color with garnet hues, fairly transparent. Volume and breadth on the palate, with a persistent finish with perfect and pleasant hints of raspberry, plum and cherry.
