Pyneit

The origins of Pyneit stem from the choice of Jonas Dorfmann, who, having no prior family or professional background in wine, entered the sector as a newcomer, taking over a steep slope in Verdings in 2021 and planting the first vines in 2023. The name recalls the historic farmstead located above Gudon, at the entrance to the Val di Funes, first recorded in 1420 and inhabited until the Second World War; the land was tended by his great-grandfather until his death around fifty years ago, before being reclaimed by wild growth. The restoration of this mountain area is an integral part of the project, where economic yield is not the benchmark, but rather ensuring that this place is not forgotten.

On the production side, the estate is located at 930 meters above sea level above Chiusa, in a windy alpine setting defined by steep slopes on weathered quartz phyllite with clay layers and iron inclusions. The vineyard is officially in conversion to certified organic farming, using permanent green cover and mechanical cultivation to enhance soil life. In the vineyard, each vine is tended by hand with tailored canopy management and a 100% manual harvest in 10 kg crates. Production focuses exclusively on a single disease-resistant grape variety, Solaris: one parcel and one single variety to produce wines shaped by discipline, elevation, and terroir consistency.
