Pietradolce was set up in 2005, and is located in Solicchiata, a hamlet in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia, on the North-Eastern slope of Etna. The vineyard covers 10 hectares, between 600 and 800 metres above sea level, and is divided into 3 plots, each in a different district: Marchesa, Moganazzi, and Chiusa Spagnolo.
The vineyard soils are of a sandy-loam nature, with an abundant presence of skeleton and mineral elements - a generous gift from Etna's volcano - that give the wines unique characteristics.
The choice was made to cultivate only native Etna vines, bred for the most part in the traditional alberello form. A choice derived from the profound conviction that this is what the territory requires. Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Carricante are and will be the main protagonists of the Pietradolce story.
