This prestigious "Gavi dei Gavi – La Scolca" is obtained with the utmost respect for nature, from pruning to harvesting. With a strict and rigorous selection conducted with the utmost care, cluster by cluster, in vineyards over sixty years of age, we get "unique" grapes. Then in the winery, under watchful guidance of a master expert, applying the ancient rules of vinification, refined over eighty years of family tradition, an unsurpassed style of Gavi is born, a paragon of reference. The maximum procurable in quality as manifested by fragrance and flavour of live, intense character, harmonious and balanced, offers a surprising freshness and integrity, Notes of flint, almond and hazelnut will develop in the course of time, which does wonders.

Die Geschichte des Gavi ist untrennbar mit der des Gutes La Scolca und der Familie Soldati verbunden. Bereits im Jahr 1919 gegründet, brachte La Scolca als erstes Weingut einen reinsortigen Weißwein aus der Cortese Traube namens Gavi auf den Markt. Der Name kommt von der gleichnamigen Region.


Im Jahre 1966 erzeugte Vittorio Soldati den inzwischen weltberühmten Gavi di Gavi "Etichetta Nera". La Scolca ist das älteste und berühmteste Weingut der Region Gavi. Heute wird das Weingut vom dynamischen Dr. Soldati und seiner Tochter Chiara geleitet.

Neben beachtlichen Erweiterungsarbeiten im historischen Weinkeller wird heute mit modernsten Mitteln besonders der hohe Qualitätsstandart kontrolliert. Die Weine von La Scolca decken die gesamte Spanne von einfachen, frischen und leicht perlenden Weißwein bis hin zu den traditionellen Produkten ab. Mehr lesen
