Beschreibung
Moscato Asti Casa di Bianca is a lightly sparkling, aromatic white wine from the Piedmont region, specifically the municipality of Castagnole Lanze in the province of Asti. The municipality is also home to the winery that produces it, Gianni Doglia. This winery is known for its professionalism and passion for its work. The Doglia family also gave the Casa di Bianca name, which refers to a plot of land located right in the heart of the estate where the Moscato Bianco grape is grown. The quality of this wine, which pairs well with aperitifs as well as desserts and toasts between meals, has been recognized and rewarded over the years, with the awarding of Tre Bicchieri by Gambero Rosso and the Quattro Viti by Vitae AIS (Italian Sommelier Association). Among its distinguishing features is its refermentation method. This is the now more than century-old Martinotti or Martinotti-Charmat method, a name derived from the names of its two inventors: Valerio Martinotti from Villanova and Eugène Charmat from France. The method is used to make sparkling wine. Thus, the Moscato Asti Casa di Bianca grapes are carefully hand-harvested in early September, delicately pressed, and then left to ferment for six months in an autoclave, i.e., inside pressurized containers, as required by the Martinotti method.
