產區 The Neuburger is an Austrian white wine originating from the Wachau. The grapes from which it is obtained is a natural cross of Roter Veltliner and Sylvaner. The cultivation of this grape is strongly in decline. The reasons are essentially two: the Neuburger offers an excellent quality of wine, but it cannot really compete with the most renowned Grüner Veltliner; moreover the grape is easily subject to the diseases of the vines. Fortunately the vines have a very rapid growth, they recover quickly and adapt to arid and poor soils. The variety is also very sensitive to frost, and is sometimes subject to powdery mildew and mildew. It is very sensitive to Botrytis and compact clusters are not an advantage.
特色酒 The Neuburger mostly offers robust and full or light wines with a neutral flavor. The young qualities are spicy and floral. Later, hazelnut flavors develop.
