Description
What kind of wine it is
The Barolo del Comune di La Morra by Roberto Voerzio is a still red wine, a true expression of Piedmont. Produced from Nebbiolo grapes with Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin, fermented in steel and aged in barriques and large barrels, it stands out for its intense red colour, dry profile and excellent structure. Appreciated by international critics, it requires about an hour of decanting to reveal all its finesse and extraordinary ability to evolve over time.
Where it comes from
This Barolo originates in La Morra, in the heart of the Langhe. The vineyards benefit from a south-east exposure, ideal for ensuring optimal ripening and a regular vegetative cycle. Roberto Voerzio's agronomic philosophy involves high planting density and minimal yields, limited to about half a kilogram per vine. This approach encourages an extraordinary concentration of fruit, offering a precise sip that reflects the authentic territorial identity.
How it is produced
The harvest takes place between the end of September and the beginning of October to preserve the integrity of the fruit. After fermentation in steel, the wine matures for twenty-four months in barriques and large barrels, promoting delicate micro-oxygenation. The wine then rests for a further eight months in steel tanks for stabilisation, concluding its journey with a final bottle ageing of eight months, which consolidates its elegant texture and natural longevity.
