| Story | Native grape variety from the Adriatic side of the central Apennines. Cluster is medium-small, cylindrical and elongated, with small spherical, golden yellow berry and robust skin. The reason for the name being the same as the well-known cheese is uncertain, but it is probably due to the seasonal movements of shepherds who, on their return from the mountain areas in September, would take their flocks to graze on the very vineyards where the burp had already been harvested. |
