Description
What kind of wine it is
Langhe Nebbiolo Massolino is a still red wine with Denomination of Controlled Origin that embodies the elegance of Piedmont, vinified in a classic manner and aged in traditional barrels. Characterised by a garnet red colour, it reveals a delicate aromatic profile where notes of raspberry and violet emerge, capable of evolving over time towards more complex nuances. On the palate, it expresses a medium body and a harmonious and complete sip. Its structure balances finesse and softness, offering an immediate yet profound interpretation of the Nebbiolo grape variety.
Where it comes from
The Nebbiolo grapes originate from the hills of the Langhe, with particular reference to the territories of Serralunga d’Alba. The vineyards, situated at an altitude of about three hundred and forty metres, rest on medium-textured calcareous soils. The vineyards are cultivated using the traditional Guyot system, with a density of 5,500 vines per hectare and a yield of 65 quintals.
How it is produced
The vinification involves fermentation accompanied by a medium-length maceration, usually between eight and ten days. This technique allows for the extraction of noble components while preserving freshness and pleasantness. The wine then matures through ageing in traditional barrels for over a year. The passage in wood smooths the structure, giving a rounded and velvety taste texture, which enhances the expressive purity of the Langhe.

With tenacity and passion, we have been making wine since 1896.
Azienda Agricola Massolino Vigna Rionda is the dream of our great-grandfather Giovanni, who founded the estate in 1896. In those days, it was a traditional Langa farm, producing fruit and vegetables, raising livestock and making wine.
Our family is firmly at the helm of the historic estate that inhaled the vibrant air full of change of the late 19th century and navigated the tides of the first half of the 20th century. Today, we face the new challenges of the 21st century, in the capable hands of the third and fourth generations.
We are Massolino Vigna Rionda and we are writing a legacy with our wines. Read more
