Description
What kind of wine it is
Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo Marchesi Migliorati is an organic rosé wine with controlled designation of origin and is vegan, produced from Montepulciano grapes. This expression stands out for its clear and complex aromas, offering an authentic interpretation of the region. The winemaking process involves maceration on the skins in stainless steel for about fifteen days, followed by six months of ageing. On the palate, it displays a slender and persistent structure, making it ideal for pairing with beef and pork as well as mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
The grapes grow in the Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo area, within mid-hill vineyards situated at three hundred metres above sea level. The south-east exposure and cool climate favour a clear and consistent aromatic expression. The clay soils deeply characterise these lands, defining a flavour profile of great purity. The combination of these environmental factors results in a vibrant freshness on the palate, ensuring a linear progression and excellent drinkability.
How it is produced
Following the October harvest, the Montepulciano grapes, grown using the cordon training system, undergo maceration on the skins to extract the typical colour. Fermentation without temperature control takes place in steel containers for fifteen days, enhancing the original aromatic components. Afterwards, the wine undergoes six months of ageing in steel. This technique preserves the fragrance of the fruit, delivering pronounced aromatic clarity and a pleasant complexity without compromising its essence.
History and Curiosities
Born from the restoration of abandoned Abruzzo vineyards, the Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC by Marchesi Migliorati tells the story of a region’s rebirth. Created by oenologist Enrico Perinetti, this organic rosé enhances Montepulciano grapes grown at 300 metres altitude on clay soils. The skin maceration in steel tanks without temperature control and six months of ageing give the wine exceptional aromatic clarity. An elegant label that captivates with its lively freshness and vibrant persistence on the palate.
