Description
What kind of wine it is
Circus, produced by Lunae, is a still red wine that encapsulates the authentic expression of the Ligurian territory. Created from a careful blend of Massaretta, Alicante and Albarossa, it presents an intense purple-red colour in the glass. The bouquet opens with clear notes of geranium and red flowers, fading into hints of cherry, wild strawberries and currants, enriched by a subtle trace of black pepper and a touch of eucalyptus. On the palate, it reveals a balanced structure, supported by velvety tannins and a fruity, harmonious finish, typical of the Liguria di Levante area.
Where it comes from
The grapes for this blend grow in the Piana di Luni, a strip of land just a few kilometres from the sea. The vineyards take root in sandy soils, benefiting from constant ventilation that promotes the health of the bunches. The strong maritime influence and coastal breezes are fundamental for the aromatic development and optimal ripening of the berries. This specific microclimate gives the sip a pleasant freshness, imparting a distinctly Mediterranean character that enhances the overall harmony and smoothness of the wine.
How it is produced
Production begins with a ten-day maceration on the skins, an essential step to extract colour and aromatic components. After racking, the varieties are blended to create the wine's identity. This is followed by five months of ageing in stainless steel, avoiding the use of barrels to preserve the natural liveliness of the fruit. This precise technical choice ensures a wine of clear aromatic precision, offering a tasting experience where soft tannins, a balanced body and a final persistence of great finesse stand out.
History and Curiosities
The Circvs di Lunae Bosoni originates from the sandy soils of the Luni Plain, caressed by sea breezes. This captivating red wine combines the ancient Massaretta grape, a symbolic variety of the region, with Alicante and Albarossa. Thanks to careful ageing in stainless steel, the wine retains its fresh Mediterranean character intact. The tribute to local history is also reflected in the elegant Roman-style illustration on the label, which frames an authentic and convivial expression of the Liguria di Levante IGT denomination.

Cantine Lunae deepen their roots in the millenary hystory of this land and people, whose great vine-growing and wine-making tradition have inherited. Etruscans, or perhaps Ligures and then Romans, were the first to grow vineyards in the surroundings of the beautiful Luni, the "Moon City".
These lands have given birth to our vineyards, to our passion, to our wine!
