Description
What kind of wine it is
Etna Rosso by Federico Graziani is a still wine that clearly expresses the character of the Sicilian territory. Made from a blend of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes, it appears in the glass with a pale, transparent ruby red hue. On the nose, there are fragrant notes of strawberry and raspberry, accompanied by a pleasant citrus hint reminiscent of mandarin. On the palate, it reveals a lively and harmonious tannic structure, offering a clean, savoury and refreshing sip. Its versatility makes it perfect to pair with seafood dishes, such as fish and shellfish, as well as elegantly complementing white meats.
Where it comes from
This expression originates on the northern slope of Etna, in vineyards located between Passopisciaro and Montelaguardia. The vines grow at high altitudes on sandy soil rich in stones, characterised by the presence of lava rock. This particular microclimate encourages balanced ripening of the grapes, imparting the strength of the surrounding nature to the wine. The deep connection with the volcanic terroir gives the wine defined aromas and a lively sip, outlining an authentic flavour profile with a strong territorial identity.
How it is produced
Production aims to preserve the integrity of the fruit and ease of drinking. Vinification involves spontaneous fermentation in steel, using indigenous yeasts to enhance the varietal aromatic profile. This is followed by twelve months of maturation in third-passage barrels, a careful choice that supports the wine’s evolution without overpowering its original characteristics, adding only subtle hints of vanilla and white chocolate. After a further six months of bottle ageing, the wine reaches an ideal balance, offering a satisfying taste and a persistent mineral finish.
History and Curiosities
Created to offer an authentic and accessible glass, Etna Rosso DOC by Federico Graziani reflects the same deep passion as the renowned Profumo di Vulcano. The vines grow on the northern slope of Etna, between Passopisciaro and Montelaguardia, in a picturesque vineyard-garden surrounded by centuries-old olive trees. Here, over two thousand years of winemaking history meet modernity: a perfect combination, enhanced by the innovative label with NFC system that certifies the absolute authenticity of each bottle.

For the past 2000 years, people here have been growing vineyards in small plots of land reclaimed from the mountain, living in symbiosis with the volcano and adapting to the power and unpredictability of its elements. This is slow and ancient work, carried out by hand with toil, passion, and respect. Read more
