Description
What kind of wine it is
Bortolomiol Prior Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Brut is a sparkling wine that faithfully reflects the identity of its territory. Made from Glera grapes, it displays a bright straw yellow colour and a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it releases notes of green apple, white peach, citrus fruits and fresh flowers. On the palate, it is dry and refreshing, with a pleasant velvety texture. The tasting ends with a mineral finish, making it ideal as an aperitif or paired with fresh cheeses and oysters.
Where it comes from
This sparkling wine originates from the hills of Valdobbiadene, a landscape recognised as a World Heritage Site. The Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore area boasts a historic vocation for Glera, a variety capable of delivering great elegance. The Bortolomiol winery stands out for its pioneering spirit, being the first to promote the Brut style in the region to enhance the natural qualities of the grape. The result is an authentic and balanced expression, characterised by pronounced aromatic finesse.
How it is produced
The process begins with white vinification and gentle pressing of the grapes, followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature. The secondary fermentation takes place using the Martinotti-Charmat method in a pressurised tank for about thirty days. This winemaking technique is essential to preserve the intense fruity component and the varietal freshness of the Glera. After the sparkling process, the wine rests for a short maturation of a few months, stabilising its harmonious flavour profile.
History and Curiosities
Founded in 1949 in Valdobbiadene, the Bortolomiol winery celebrates the vision of Giuliano, a true pioneer of Prosecco Brut in an era dominated by Extra Dry. The Prior, distinguished by the Roman numeral on the capsule, embodies this historic achievement. The excellent Millesimato 2024, awarded the Tre Bicchieri Gambero Rosso and gold at the Berlin Wine Trophy, offers a sip of elegant freshness. This icon of tradition pays tribute to the UNESCO World Heritage hills, skilfully intertwining family roots with constant and refined innovation.

Bortolomiol is a strong and tight-knit family made up entirely of women: the mother, the soul and linchpin of this company, and the sisters, the beating heart, who guide and support the family business in the continual challenges to achieve quality, efficiency and effectiveness with an outlook that is always competitive.
