Areas of cultivation White-grape vine originally in the Loire valley and also called Pineau or Pineau de la Loire, chenin blanc has been successfully transplanted to the Americas, South Africa, Israel and Oceania.

The characteristic tastes include ripe apple, pear, peach and soft honey notes and high quality Chenin Blanc can have a long, persistent sweet ending. Some wine has the ability to age for decades due to high levels of acidity and remarkable sugary residues.
