Vincent Gaudry ' s winery is in the tiny hamlet of Le Petit Chambre at the foot of the hill of Sancerre.
The eleven hectare domaine which he took over from his father as he had taken over from his father before him is 100% biodynamic having been certified by Demeter since 2006 following its conversion to organic farming in the late 90 ' s.
As with many practitioners of biodynamics Gaudry has an almost spiritual connection to his land and vines and believes that the system is the best way to extract the expression of the terroir. He also has a prosaically practical reason for taking the organic road have spent three days in agony following spraying the vines for his father twenty years ago.
A true minimalist Gaudry ' s guiding principle is 'Trust in Nature' he uses no cultured yeasts or enzymes and his wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered.
