History	Grenache, or Garnacha, is an international red grape variety, widespread throughout the world. Its origins are not very clear, it seems to come from Spain (where it is called Garnacha Tinta), or from France (where it is called Grenache Noir). These two countries are also those where it is most widespread at present, especially in the wine-producing areas of Aragon, La Rioja, Catalonia and the Pyrenees with regard to Spain and throughout the southern belt of France (Provence, Languedoc and Rhone Valley).
Ampelographic features	Medium leaf, trilobate or five-lobed, green, glossy and hairless. The bunch is medium, tight, conical or cylindrical, sometimes winged. The grape is medium, round, black-purple, with a thin and very pruinose skin.
Characteristics of the wine obtained from this grape variety	The wine that is obtained if drunk young is very pleasant, fruity and highly drinkable, if aged in oak barrels it gains a warmer and more velvety taste, just as pleasant.
