Michele Satta Syrah 2020
In 1991, Michele Satta planted the first vineyard of Syrah. The choice of Syrah stemmed from the will to represent to the maximum the aromatic complexity of the Mediterranean terroir, as well as to realize a personal identification with some great wines from the Rhone area. Knowing that the average age of the vineyards would need to be of at least over 15 years, the winemaker patiently awaited their growth to bring out the maximum characteristic of this inexhaustible grape.

Hints of lavender, violets, berries, tobacco, pepper, liquorice root, cinchona, graphite and mineral hints of rock salt.

Smooth and consistent on the palate, with velvety tannins and a tasty mineral finish. Long persistence.

收成 Mid September. Grapes are harvested at full maturation.
釀造 The harvested and selected grapes are fermented in 30-hl oak barrels. The yeasts are exclusively indigenous. Only manual punching-down is carried out to stir the cap and only if necessary open pumping-over. Great attention is paid to the time of harvest and the duration of maceration in order to extract soft tannins in a balanced manner and bring out the aromatic richness of this grape. After malolactic fermentation, which normally occurs in November, the wine is put into barriques.
陳年 18 months in barriques of second, third and fourth passage. At least one year in the bottle.
