歷史	The name Mantonico comes from the Greek "Manteuticos", which means prophetic, to indicate the power of divination that the sweet wine obtained from this vine seemed to confer on those who consumed it. The Mantonico, not to be confused with Montonico, a vine spread predominantly in central Italy, is an ancient cultivated variety in Magna Grecia and subsequently spread over the Ionian coast of Calabria by Greek colonists.
