Philippe and Pierre-Jean, sons of Joseph Roty (who died in 2008), represent the eleventh generation of a family that has been cultivating some of the oldest vineyards of Gevrey-Chambertin and Marsannay for 300 years. Their vineyards, conducted according to the principles of organic farming, host vines whose ages range from 25 to over one hundred years; in this regard, it is worth mentioning a very small production called "Charmes-Chambertin Très Vieilles Vignes", obtained from Pinot Noir vines planted around 1881.
Little or nothing I was able to find out about the processing of wines in the cellar except that for aging are used barrique with a high degree of toasting. The absence of a website dedicated to the Domaine and the privacy of the Roty family towards the press have made it rather difficult to find information online about it.
