The name of this wine comes from the word "bitter", which began to be used to distinguish it from "Recioto" the other sweeter red wine typical of the area of Valpolicella, and with whom he had casually origin.Catullus (Latin poet of the Republican age) was already speaking of a "bitter wine" declaiming "calices amariores" (bitter glasses) in his Carmine No. 27, written in 49 BC (approximately).
Ruby purple color with good intensity and brilliance.
Diversified nose, thick, warm, enveloping, fruity with hints of wild berries, herbs, pepper, black licorice and a savory minerality and a strong smell of wet earth.
Dense, ripe and lush berries with a hint of dark chocolate. This is a wine of power and elegance, harmonic and enticing. The finish is long and satisfying.
