An indigenous wine, which according to some is the heir to the ancient Pucinum, cultivated here by the ancient Romans. Important and proud, it goes well with roasts, stews and game.

Colour

Deep ruby with purple reflections.

Bouquet

Aromas of cinchona, coffee, undergrowth and blackberry pie.

Flavour

Cherry and plum flavours, often accompanied by hints of white pepper.

Pairing

Especially indicated for typical dishes from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, like beans and pork sausage, gulasch and stewed hare.
