Giacomo Bologna’s father used to select in the cellar the most rebellious and exuberant Barbera, calling it “La Monella” (cheeky girl) which was renowned for its characteristic and irrepressible fizzyness.

Intense violet ruby red colour, lively froth, slightly sparkling.

Bouquet

Fragrant on the nose, explosive and winy, with intense hints of red fruit and bracing sour cherry.

Flavour

Extraordinarily lively taste, very fresh, “vivacious and irrepressible”, good body and soft texture.

Pairing

This Barbera goes well with cold meat, pasta dishes and spicy stews. In particular perfect with boiled meat, mixed grills, roasts, red meat stews and delicate fowl.
