Description
Still white wine from Alto Adige DOC, 14% ABV, produced by Cantina Tramin. Blend: 65% Chardonnay, 20% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Pinot Bianco, 5% Traminer Aromatico. 0.75 l bottle, 2023 vintage. Cantina Tramin, the home of Gewürztraminer, was founded in 1898 as a small project with a few families initiated by Christian Schrott, parish priest of Termeno and member of the Austrian Parliament, to ensure the livelihood and future of mountain winemakers. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and placed in small containers to keep them intact. They are pressed immediately. Slow fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature (18–20 °C) in wooden barrels (30–40 hl), where malolactic fermentation also takes place. The must is racked by natural sedimentation. Elegant and refined, with fruity notes of peach, apricot, pear, sambuca, and kumquat (Kumquat); white flowers with subtle spicy notes, jasmine, and mimosa. Golden yellow. Deep fruity aromas of pineapple, banana, pear, tomato leaf, green pepper, and citrus peel. Harmonious and balanced, with a delicate minerality and savory finish. Very fine and persistent, soft, and minerally.
