Description

What kind of wine it is

Chassagne Montrachet Blanc by Christian Bergeret et Fille is a still white wine that embodies the elegance of Burgundy. To the eye, it displays a straw yellow colour enriched with bright golden highlights. The bouquet is characterised by fresh citrus notes, which precede a structured, smooth and notably persistent palate. Served at an ideal temperature between 12 and 14°C, it pairs harmoniously with dishes of lean fish, shellfish and sushi, and also proves an excellent match for soft cheeses and light starters.

Where it comes from

This white originates from the renowned commune of Chassagne-Montrachet, in the heart of Burgundy. The Christian Bergeret et Fille winery carefully cultivates Chardonnay within a fourteen-hectare estate, spread across Beaune, Pommard, Saint-Aubin, Santenay, Nolay and Chassagne-Montrachet itself. The grapes come from vineyards with an average age of 25-30 years, with the oldest plots tended with the utmost care. The result is a wine that precisely reflects the true territorial identity of the region.

How it is produced

Production follows the methods of classic vinification, aimed at enhancing the natural qualities that Chardonnay expresses in this terroir. After the initial processing, maturation takes place in oak barrels for a period ranging from twelve to eighteen months. This time in wood gives the wine volume and smoothness, while preserving its primary aromas. Thanks to its solid flavour structure, the wine ensures excellent cellar ageing, able to rest in the bottle for five to ten years.
