Description

What kind of wine it is

Tàlis by Venica & Venica is a still white wine that expresses the essence of the Collio region. Made from Pinot Bianco grapes, it presents a fresh and elegant style on the palate, with a medium body and well-defined savouriness. On the nose, it reveals a clear aromatic profile, characterised by floral and fruity notes reminiscent of chamomile, renetta apple and citrus fruits. The sip stands out for its mineral persistence, delivering a clean and harmonious finish.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from vineyards located in Dolegna del Collio, cultivated on well-exposed hills at altitudes between 60 and 270 metres. The calcareous and stony soils, typical of this area, give the wine a distinct mineral character. Sheltered by the Julian Prealps, the area enjoys a temperate microclimate influenced by breezes from the Adriatic Sea. This combination favours balanced ripening, allowing the development of complex aromatic nuances and the preservation of the grapes' natural freshness.

How it is produced

Production begins with manual harvesting and destemming of the bunches. This is followed by cold maceration of the skins in the absence of oxygen, a key technique for preserving the aromatic integrity of the must. Fermentation and ageing on the lees last for five months and take place in steel tanks and large oak barrels. This process gives the wine a velvety structure without compromising its liveliness. Finally, bottling is carried out according to the lunar phases, with the aim of enhancing the purity and authenticity of the fruit.

History and Curiosities

The Pinot Bianco Tàlis, whose Friulian name pays tribute to the dandelion, originates in Dolegna del Collio from a noble grape variety of Alsatian origin, cultivated in this area for over 150 years. A distinctive feature of its production is the traditional bottling according to the lunar phases. The result is a wine that has received numerous awards from critics.
