Description

What kind of wine it is

Saint Veran Vieilles Vignes by Robert Denogent is an organic white wine that faithfully expresses the essence of Chardonnay. It presents a straw yellow colour, introducing an aromatic profile with clear fruity and floral notes, intertwined with distinct mineral hints. On the palate, it is fresh and balanced, offering a harmonious sip and a clean finish. Its pronounced freshness naturally enhances dishes of lean fish, poultry-based preparations, and various types of cheese.

Where it comes from

This wine originates in France, in the renowned Burgundy region, within the Saint Veran area. The Robert Denogent estate, located in the commune of Fuissé, preserves a historic family winemaking heritage now led by Nicolas and Antoine. The deep connection with the land is expressed through the enhancement of old vines, mature plots that add depth to the harvest. The production area defines a precise territorial context, recognised for whites characterised by a pronounced mineral component.

How it is produced

The production follows a rigorous method that respects the raw material. Fermentation occurs spontaneously, using only indigenous yeasts. Subsequently, the wine rests in a slow maturation for thirty-two months on the fine lees, a phase that develops an integrated texture and a firm gustatory balance. Bottling takes place with no filtration or fining, resulting in a glass that preserves the authentic imprint of its original terroir.

From this winery
At the beginning of the 20th century, the Denogent family, originally from Fuissé, started the wine business. Andrée Robert, née Ddenogent, grandmother of Antoine and Nicolas, owns 5 ha of vines. Although the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation has not yet been declared, she knows that the terroirs have potential and that by respecting these generous soils and this wonderful Chardonnay, the wines produced will be exceptional.

Jean-Jacques Robert, Andrée's son, takes over the reins in 1989. The estate changes its name and becomes Robert-Denogent in homage to his ancestors. Jean-Jacques continues in the same vein, always a gourmand and eager to share his wines with his friends. He gradually increases the surface area of vines.

Nicolas, the eldest son, returns to the estate in 2006. He does more than support his father by bringing his vision of wine. Antoine, Nicolas' brother, joined the estate in 2012. In 2015, Jean-Jacques passed the baton... while remaining close to his sons.
