Description
What kind of wine is it
Catarratto Chardonnay Bpuntoio is an organic white wine and vegan from the Terre Siciliane denomination, produced in Sicily from the meeting of Catarratto and Chardonnay grapes, with fermentation in steel. To the eye, it presents an intense golden yellow colour, enhanced by bright greenish reflections, while on the nose a rich bouquet emerges, dominated by clear mineral and citrus notes that blend with hints of linden, apricot and peach. On the palate, it expresses a silky texture, balanced by lively freshness and a pleasant savouriness. The taste, harmonious and well-balanced, finishes with a fruity finish perfect paired with fresh cheeses, raw fish and light first courses.
Where does it come from
This wine is produced in Sicily and belongs to the Terre Siciliane denomination. The Bpuntoio project is committed to protecting agricultural biodiversity, strictly following the principles of organic farming. The character of the territory emerges through the union of Catarratto and Chardonnay grapes.
How is it produced
The winemaking process involves the separate processing of the different varieties. After destemming, the must is gently extracted by pneumatic pressing. Fermentation in steel takes place at a controlled temperature, thus preserving the original aromatic integrity. The Catarratto and Chardonnay then mature separately on fine lees for a period of six to eight months. This technique helps to limit oxidation, before proceeding to the final blend.
History and Curiosities
This wine originates from the b.io project by Terre Cevico, created with the aim of enhancing traditional grape varieties and promoting biodiversity. Among the product's distinctive features, the bottle stands out for its cork stopper secured with natural string and its minimalist white label depicting a dragonfly. The farmer members who supply the grapes are also strictly monitored by various certification bodies for organic production.
