Description
What kind of wine it is
The Zenato Lugana Riserva Sergio Zenato white is a structured and full-bodied expression from Veneto, made from Trebbiano di Lugana grapes, also known as Turbiana. This Lugana Riserva label offers a dry and refreshing sip, able to harmonise a pleasant softness with an intense mineral streak. The bouquet reveals refined floral and fruity notes, with bright citrus and ripe white-fleshed fruit standing out. On the palate, the dense and enveloping texture evolves towards a savoury and persistent finish, enriched by a typical almond note.
Where it comes from
The grapes are selected from the oldest vineyards of Podere Massoni, located in the Santa Cristina estate in Peschiera del Garda, on the southern shore of Lake Garda. The rows, situated at around eighty metres altitude with a southern exposure, draw nourishment from a chalky-clay soil. This particular soil composition gives the sip a vibrant acidic tension and a pronounced mineral character. The Guyot training system ensures perfect productive balance, following a sustainable approach that enhances the natural territorial vocation.
How it is produced
The production process begins with a slightly late harvest, carried out around mid-October to encourage maximum aromatic concentration. Fermentation takes place partly in oak barrels and partly in steel tanks. The wine then undergoes maturation in wood for about six months, using new barrels and tonneaux. The measured use of oak imparts complexity and encourages the evolution of the sensory profile without masking its freshness, while the time in steel preserves the aromatic precision. Finally, a twelve-month rest in the bottle ensures this white has excellent ageing potential.
History and Curiosities
Obtained from the oldest vineyards of Podere Massoni, this renowned Lugana DOC Riserva is produced only in the vintages most suited to long ageing. Sergio Zenato was the first to recognise the potential of this grape variety, introducing oak ageing to give the wine extraordinary longevity. This prestigious label, which proudly bears his signature, blends tradition with modern precision, offering an elegant complexity praised by the international critics. A masterpiece from the Santa Cristina estate, ideal for elegant dinners.

A story that stretches from the banks of Lake Garda to the hills of nearby Valpolicella where the estate’s reds are born from sunny vineyards of Corvina and Rondinella in Costalunga in Sant’Ambrogio commune. Read more
