Features wine	This type typically produces fresh, medium-bodied, moderately alcoholic and medium-high, sweet and sparkling wines. The wines made with Chenin blanc are very fragrant, with aromas of honey, flowers, wet straw, smoke and wet wool. The characteristic tastes include ripe apple, pear, peach and soft honey notes and high quality Chenin Blanc can have a long, persistent sweet ending. Some wine has the ability to age for decades due to high levels of acidity and remarkable sugary residues.
Growing areas	White-grape vine originally in the Loire valley and also called Pineau or Pineau de la Loire, chenin blanc has been successfully transplanted to the Americas, South Africa, Israel and Oceania.
