Description

What type of wine it is

Mâcon-Bussières by Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon is a white wine with a Protected Designation of Origin made from Chardonnay grapes, capable of expressing the character of Burgundy. In the glass, it presents an intense and brilliant straw-yellow colour. The aromatic profile offers defined floral notes, enriched by hints of violet, honey and nougat. Vinified in steel and large casks, on the palate it reveals juicy fruit with hints of melted butter and pastry, closing with a persistent savoury and iodised finish.

Where it comes from

This elegant wine originates in France, in the heart of Burgundy, more precisely in the Mâconnais region. The Mâcon-Bussières area is renowned for its wine-growing vocation, ideal for the development of vines. Since 1999, Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon has been enhancing the peculiarities of these soils, offering a defined interpretation of the terroir. The wine, distinguished by the Le Monsard mention, faithfully reflects its landscape of origin. This precise geographical expression also guarantees excellent ageing potential, which can reach ten years in the cellar.

How it is produced

The vinification preserves the integrity of the fruit and the purity of the varietal aromas. The process takes place in steel, while selected batches rest in large casks, before being combined in a harmonious blend of freshness and enveloping texture. Appreciated by international critics, this white wine demonstrates great versatility at the table. Served between 10 and 12 °C, it pairs well with shellfish, buttered fish and selected cheeses, balancing creamier preparations with poise.

History and interesting facts

In 1999 he began the adventure in the mâconnais of Dominique Lafon that buys the first part of the 21.5 hectares that today make up the property south of the Côte de Beaune, in that area that more and more gives elegant wines and at the same time "fresh" and easy to drink. There are three imported wines, some with vinification only in steel and others with vinification in steel and in large 60-hectolitre casks.

Sole chardonnay grapes in the domaine for an average production of 140,000 bottles for a wine more and more the result of the experience and style of the eclectic Dominique which brought in Mâcon that finesse but above all the depth of the great wines of Burgundy.
