Description
Wine type
Carricante Versante Est Eduardo Torres Acosta is a still white wine that purely expresses the identity of Mount Etna. Produced from Carricante grapes, it presents itself in the glass with a bright straw-yellow appearance. The aromatic profile intertwines fruity hints and delicate herbal notes, supported by a distinct mineral character. On the palate, it is tense and linear, driven by a vibrant savouriness that ensures a long finish and an essential structure fully representative of the Terre Siciliane IGT (Indicazione Geografica Tipica) appellation.
Origin
This white wine originates on the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna, from vineyards located on the eastern side. The matrix of lava soils gives the wine a recognisable mineral tone, enriching its complexity. The eastern exposure ensures constant thermal freshness, a fundamental element for giving tension and liveliness to the sip. Eduardo Torres Acosta manages these plots in the Terre Siciliane area with care, completing the winemaking process in the village of Passopisciaro, the heart of Etna viticulture.
Production
Production aims to enhance the identity of the Carricante grape variety, preserving the integrity of the fruit. Every stage of the winemaking process is oriented towards rigorous aromatic clarity, aimed at isolating and defining the footprint of the volcanic territory. The result is a wine that shows remarkable freshness on the palate, maintaining perfect consistency with the herbal and fruity olfactory profile. The meticulous approach throughout the processing yields a white wine of great precision, capable of finishing the tasting with a firm mineral tension.

In 2012, he participated in the grape harvest at Arianna Occhipinti's, and a year later he worked as an oenologist at the Passopisciaro winery, attracted by the volcanic territory. In 2014, he began his work to restore the leased vineyards on Etna's northern slope. In the same year he bottled his first vintage.
Today we work 4.7 ha divided into 9 vineyards at different heights and districts. We continue to recover old vineyards that are 90% cultivated with the traditional alberello system. Today the company believes in the importance of continuous comparison and sharing with other producers, in the knowledge of other territories and other varieties. This is how we try to interpret a territory and make it known within a glass. Read more
