Description
What kind of wine it is
Zorzettig Myo Friuli Colli Orientali Malvasia is an elegant aromatic white wine that expresses the essence of its place of origin. Made from Malvasia Bianca grapes grown in the Friuli Colli Orientali, it appears in the glass with a bright straw yellow colour. The bouquet offers clear notes of apricot, thyme and medicinal herbs, enriched by delicate saline nuances. On the palate, it reveals its mineral nature through a savoury and enveloping sip, characterised by a long-lasting finish.
Where it comes from
The grapes are grown in Ipplis di Premariacco, at around 210 metres above sea level. The soils are characterised by ponca, the typical layering of Eocene marl and sandstone that gives the wine a profound mineral texture. Cultivated with meticulous sustainable practices, these vineyards are true reserves of biodiversity. The ideal exposure ensures intense aromatic development and an extremely balanced drink.
How it is produced
After careful hand harvesting, the bunches undergo a cold maceration for twelve hours. The must ferments in steel to preserve the purity of the Malvasia Bianca, followed by ageing on the lees for six months with weekly bâtonnage. Maturation takes place mainly in steel tanks and partly in barrels, drawing on a reserve of previous vintages to enrich the complexity of the blend. A further final maturation of six months allows the perfect balance of the structure to be sealed.
