Description
Still organic red wine from Bolgheri, Tuscany, 14.5% ABV, produced by Podere Sapaio. Blend: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot. 2023 vintage. A wine that embodies the elegance and power of the Bolgheri terroir, with meticulous vinification and aging that enhances its complexity. Alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks with long maceration on the grapes. Malolactic fermentation in French oak. Aged for 16 months in French oak barriques and tonneaux, followed by 4 months in bottle. It offers aromas of wild fruit and earth, floral notes and black chervil, chervil, and star anise. Bright ruby red. Rich and graceful on the palate, with a strong tannin structure. A persistent finish.

The names Sapaio and Volpolo come from two ancient Tuscany vines: Sapaia and Volpola. They were purposely chosen to exalt the local origins of the product beginning with their names. The crown on the trademark for the Podere Sapaio is a tribute to the nobility of the wines and the land, which are always respected in the work that is carried out in the vineyard and in the cellar.
