Bolgheri is a DOCG wine produced in Castagneto Carducci in the province of Livorno. It is a red wine with intense aromas reminiscent of the territory from which it originates that has written the history of Italian oenology. Related to this area is Sassicaia, a wine that has made history thanks to the insight of Marquis Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, who wanted to create a great Bordeaux-style wine. In fact, Bolgheri wines revolutionised the sector towards the end of the 1960s , not only because of the use of international grape varieties such as cabernet franc, merlot, syrah and cabernet sauvignon, but above all because of the use of small French oak barrels, the barriques. Bolgheri red wine is distinguished by its easily recognisable organoleptic characteristics, marked by intense fragrance and a smooth taste. xtraWine offers a wide selection of bottles of Bolgheri red wine that have received important awards from Bibenda, Gambero Rosso and Veronelli. On xtraWine you will find only the best vintages of 2015 and 2016 made by important wineries such as: Casa di Terra, Antnori, Colle Massari, Podere Sapaio and Poggio al Tesoro.
