Description
What kind of wine it is
The Champagne Grand Cru Verzenay Brut Nature by Marguet is a Blanc de Noirs that decisively expresses the character of Pinot Noir. In the glass, it displays a straw yellow hue, enlivened by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it opens with a defined aromatic profile, where small red fruits blend with elegant yeast notes. On the palate, the structure of the Traditional Method is taut, vibrant and deep, ensuring a finish of great cleanliness. Its freshness accompanies starters, shellfish, fish dishes and selected cheeses with class.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from Verzenay, a village classified as a Grand Cru in the Champagne region. The vineyards are made up of forty-year-old vines, whose maturity favours an intense aromatic concentration of Pinot Noir. The agronomic approach strictly follows the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture. To avoid soil compaction, work between the rows is carried out with the help of horses, supported by the use of natural preparations that preserve the vitality of the land.
How it is produced
The vinification follows the meticulous stages of bottle refermentation according to the Traditional Method, essential for creating fine bubbles. To enhance the identity of the terroir, the Champagne is offered in the Brut Nature version, excluding the addition of liqueur d’expédition at disgorgement. This absence of dosage highlights the gustatory tension of the sip, enhancing the original purity of the fruit. The process concludes without added sulphites, a technical choice that reflects the rigour applied in the vineyard and delivers a dry and linear finish on the palate.
History and Curiosities
Originating from Verzenay and the result of the 2019 harvest, this exclusive Champagne by Marguet celebrates the excellence of pure Pinot Noir. The grapes come from forty-year-old historic vineyards, cultivated by Alban Corbeaux according to the strict principles of biodynamic agriculture, with the soil worked using horses to preserve its vitality. This Brut Nature, rated 96/100 by James Suckling, is vinified without added sulphites and with no sugar dosage. A Champagne of rare charm that combines great elegance with profound respect for the terroir.

The horse is a unique link with the elements that make up our land such as the mineral (chalk), the plant (vines and endemic flora) and the animal (fauna and Man).
In many civilizations, the horse is a sacred animal, non-predatory and contributing to social and spiritual balance.
