Description
What kind of wine it is
Cà Maiol Súere Lugana Riserva is a white wine with an intense straw-yellow colour, an authentic expression of Trebbiano di Lugana. The bouquet combines aromas of citron and yellow melon with hints of cumin, evolving towards scents of lavender and saffron. On the palate, the rich and creamy texture is seductive and enveloping, supported by a vibrant freshness and savouriness that finishes with elegant mineral and herbal nuances, making each sip ideal for accompanying dishes based on lean fish.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from Desenzano del Garda, in the heart of the Lugana region. The clay marl soil with limestone components benefits from a microclimate moderated by the influence of Lake Garda. This geographical combination, enhanced through sustainable farming practices carried out by Cà Maiol since 1967, gives the wine a pronounced savoury character and a well-defined structure, faithfully reflecting the characteristics of the lakeside territory.
How it is produced
Obtained from a selective manual harvest of grapes from the oldest vineyards with low yields, the wine matures between stainless steel and French oak barrels for over a year. This stage enriches its profile with subtle smoky nuances and notes of toasted almond. The subsequent bottle ageing, extended for at least six months, harmonises the components, ensuring a dynamic, juicy and remarkably persistent sip.
History and Curiosities
Founded in 1967 in Desenzano del Garda, Cà Maiol interprets the clay-rich terroir and the lake microclimate to create wines of exceptional character. The oenological care of Loris Vazzoler and the adoption of rigorous sustainable practices find their highest expression in the Súere Lugana Riserva 2021, an authentic interpretation of Trebbiano di Lugana. Recognised by the Italian Sommelier Foundation, the estate cultivates 110 hectares of dedicated vineyards, establishing itself as a benchmark of the denomination for those seeking labels of rare elegance, rich structure and profound historical significance.

Starting with a single farmhouse, over the decades it has expanded both in terms of structures and vineyards, thus expanding a unique offer for the denomination. We are in the Lugana area, a harmony of flavours and atmospheres that extends south of Lake Garda over a unique territory.
The calcareous soil, the result of a millennial process, and the typical lake climate contribute to making this an ideal place for growing vines. It is here that delicate white wines with an unmistakable freshness are born, wines that are genuine expressions of the territory in which they are born. Read more
