Conterno Giacomo

The beginning of the story of Giacomo Conterno winery is conventionally traced in 1908 when Giovanni Conterno and his family (including Giacomo, that is one of three children), returned to Italy after he emigrated to Argentina, they start an inn, producing wine, in the village at San Giuseppe in Monforte d'Alba. Giacomo grows, therefore, between the tavern and the winery until he goes to fight in the First World War as a gunner. Returning home, he devoted himself entirely to the production of wine, bringing it to be sold not only in Piedmont and Liguria, but throughout Italy.
