Alphonse Mellot

Alphonse Mellot manages the winery since 1970, although its history is 18 generations. Over the years he has always tried to express the best quality and terroir through a biodynamic cultivation, a manual harvest and a rigorous manual selection of the grapes. Its success has grown its reputation by experts who describe him as "a missionary", the "Pope of Sancerre", "a reference to the Sancerre wine."
Currently, Alphonse Mellot junior, 19th generation, working side by side with his father trying to get the best combination of grape and terroir.
